Wedding favors are tokens of gratitude that you give your guests for sharing your wedding celebration. Today's couples opt for unique, useful, and personalized favors. Favors can do double-duty as place-card holders, or if larger, group together for an instant centerpiece. Favors also add beautiful color and interest to reception tables, and provide guests with a memento of your day.

Choosing the Perfect Wedding Favor:

Keep in mind the style and mood of your wedding. This depends greatly on the location and formality you choose. For example, the atmosphere at a beach wedding would be much more fun and relaxed than a more formal wedding held at a city museum. Let your surroundings inspire you.

Couples spend approximately 2-3 percent of their wedding budget on favors. It is important to know your budget and approximately how many guests will attend your reception. This gives you an idea of how much each favor should cost. The fewer guests you have, the more eccentric your favors can be. Many weddings are planned around a specific theme chosen by the bride and groom. If you choose a wedding theme, select favors that fit within it. Favors are a perfect way to enhance your theme.

Consider your color scheme when purchasing or making your favors. You may want to use several different colors to beautifully decorate your tables, or you may stick to only one color for a classic effect. It's really up to you.

Remember, you can personalize almost any wedding favor with tags (labels with your names and wedding date), by ordering monogrammed ribbons, or by making them yourself. Whether your favors are casual or elegant, they become a nice way to thank your guests for sharing your wedding day.

What are the top 3 things a couple should look for in a wedding planner?

1. Experience – Does the wedding planner have good experience under their belt? How many weddings have they done? Do they attend conferences to stay ahead and get educated? Is this their full-time job? These are questions you should be asking.
2. Connection – You spend a lot of time with your wedding planner during your engagement. He or she is with you at most of your meetings, you email and talk a lot and you need to really like that person and enjoy being with them.
3. Style compatibility – Has the wedding planner you are speaking with done the same style of wedding you are looking to do? They don’t necessarily have to have worked at the venue you are selecting, but do they do events in the style you are looking to do? Ask to see their portfolio of work and make sure it fits your style and aesthetic.

Are there any common misconceptions about wedding planners?
I think one of the main misconceptions is that wedding planners are only for celebrity weddings or weddings with big budgets. Nothing could be further from the truth. A good wedding planner will be able to work with any budget and help you stay on budget and on task. Wedding planners are less of a luxury item and more of a necessity for busy brides and grooms to help keep the planning process moving along smoothly.

Another misconception is that we have this very glamorous job. Sure, we get to go to fun hotels, attend tastings and be at fabulous events on the weekends but we are working and have a job to make sure the wedding goes perfectly. We are not eating and drinking and enjoying like the guests; we are working, and my team and I take that very serious

Three years ago I was able to have the wedding of my dreams because of my family and wonderful wedding planner Lubba and her wonderful team at Romantic Cabo Weddings. Planning a wedding is hard enough, but with a location wedding things are a bit more stressful. Fortunately for me, I was able to have a great team behind me which made everything effortless. They understood the vision I had for my wedding and made it come to life. They went above and beyond to take care of every last detail. Our family and friends still to this day say that our wedding was amazing, beautiful, and fun. It was so great that my husband and I returned to Cabo two years later to celebrate our anniversary and Lubba was still able to make me feel like a bride. I can’t thank you enough for all your hard work and success in planning such a beautiful wedding, even with the many challenges my husband and I, and the cruise-line, presented. As a former event coordinator planning massive galas, telethons, golf tournaments, community events, etc., I was certain I could handle all the details for my destination wedding from afar and that I just needed someone onsite to execute it all. I didn’t realize that when it came to planning my own special day, things would quickly become overwhelming.
We started running behind on decisions, and you were so kind and patient with us, over and over again. One of the biggest examples was when my soon-to-be-husband basically changed all of the colors of the wedding less than two weeks before (by buying the wrong colored shirts – changing from blue to browns and oranges), you took it in stride and immediately offered some great options, and they were absolutely perfect. I also panicked a bit while on the cruise ship, the night before we were to arrive, when I learned we were getting shuttled in 2 hours early, but that the ship was still on San Diego time(an hour different than Cabo, so it was really only an hour early) and an hour is harder to fill than 2 when you are moving 60 people around, but with less than twelve hours to go and without our being able to talk on the phone, you got my email from the ship, made arrangements to have the buses there early, loaded with the beverages I requested, arrange for a special visit to the Glass Factory (which I’m not even sure is normally open at that time) and get all 60 of those guests back on the bus and to the hotel bar in time for the pre-party to begin. You absolutely saved my wedding!!!
If I could go back in time and do it all again, I would have just put it all in your hands and trusted it would be beautiful. And for those unforeseen scheduling issues, you were truly amazing – that you were so dutiful and got my email and had everything arranged and greeted us at the dock with no other communication between us – absolutely demonstrates your professionalism. Please feel free to give my phone number to any of your clients or potential clients should they request a reference.

I would like to thank you and Illeana for helping us make our 25th Anniversary a wonderful memory for not only Brian and I but also for our two boys, Chase and Jack. As with so many other marriages, we experienced the large church wedding. We wished to confirm our vows made to one another 25 years ago, but in a much more private setting and in the place we love so much. We could not have picked a better planner to accomplish this arrangement. Your many suggestions and examples finally landed the perfect idea we had in our minds. I appreciate your patience with me during the time of planning as I know at times I was hard to convince.

Our ceremony was truly so much more than I ever imagined. Pedegral was such a naturally beautiful and private setting to confirm our vows in the presence of our children. The ceremony was very touching and such a good reminder of how fortunate we are to have each other. The pictures…all I can say is they are so much more than I ever anticipated. They look very natural and so professionally done. I could not have asked for a better capture of the moment.

I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to celebrate the accomplishments in life. Memories are created not only for the husband and wife, but also for the children. What a great reminder to our boys that love is everlasting.

The Persian wedding ceremony of the “Sofreh Aghd” is a tradition, filled with rich symbols, some more ancient than Islam but all linking this generation to the future happiness of the newly wedded couple.
Only tradition links every generation, and the first link to the next generation is made by allowing the current generation to marry. In the marriage tradition symbols reveal to our desires for the happiness of everyone in both families as they are connected to future generations through the matrimony of their beloved children.

Persians celebrate, as always, with great enthusiasm in jubilation and excitement at the wedding event.
Some of the symbolisms are Mirror and two Candelabras are symbols of light and fire, love and passion, energy and guidance.
A specially baked and decorated bread with a blessing written on it
Decorated almonds, walnuts and hazelnuts in the shell to symbolize fertility.
A bowl of gold coins representing wealth and prosperity
The Koran opened in the middle and placed on the spread, this symbolizes God’s blessing for the couple.
Just to mention a few, I will never forget this wedding thanks for letting me be a part of it.

Well, it's been almost two years since our wedding in Cabo and we still fondly talk about what a wonderful experience you made it for us. We constantly look at the photos, and every wedding we attend we agree that ours was so much better... ;-)

Since our wedding in June 2008, we had a beautiful baby daughter join our little family in 2009. Sophie is now 6 months old and is so much fun!
